  1. World Population Day is observed every year on 11 July  to raise awareness about global population issues. The theme for this year is “A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all- Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all”.
  2. Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress (YSRC) elected Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, as its ‘president for life’.
  3. Rajendra Prasad has been appointed as the Managing Director of National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) after the government dismissed Satish Agnihotri over corruption allegations.
  4. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a PSU under the Ministry of Defence.
  5. The Yuva Sammelan, which was hosted by ‘My Home India’ in New Delhi, was attended by Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India.
  6. Brijendra K Syngal, former Chairman of Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL), passed away after a prolonged illness.
  7. The country’s unemployment rate has shot up at 7.80 percent in June 2022 with the loss of 13 million jobs, mainly in the agriculture sector.
  8. Union Minister of State for Space Jitendra Singh inaugurated the IS4OM in Bengaluru on 11 July, 2022.   
  9. The IAF Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence under the aegis of UDAAN, was inaugurated on 10 July, 2022 at Air Force Station Rajokri, New Delhi.
  10.  Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become the first bowler in T20 history to bowl 500 dot balls.
  11.  Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Abhishek Verma have made history by winning the bronze medal at the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, USA, in July 2022.
  12.  India will surpass China as the most populous country on earth in 2023, according to a UN report.
  13.  PM Narendra Modi on 11 July, 2022 unveiled the national Emblem cast on the roof of the new parliament building. It is made of bronze with a total weight of 9500 kilograms and is 6.5 m in height.
  14. On 8 July Angola’s former and one of the longest serving presidents Jose Eduardo dos Santos passed away in Barcelona, Spain at the age of 79 years.
